There are no risks when taking medication to treat anxiety.

This statement is False.

Many drugs used to treat anxiety are associated with addiction (and severe withdrawal symptoms) if used for more than a few weeks. Benzodiazepines such as Valium can cause: drowsiness; confusion; dizziness; trembling; impaired coordination; vision problems; feelings of depression, and headache, and may increase risk for dementia. Antipsychotic drugs are used to treat severe anxiety, and these are associated with side-effects such as: dry mouth, blurred vision, flushing; constipation; abnormal movements of the face and body; weight gain; and death.
